Introduction
About Green Accounting
The Wisefish Green Accounting feature is an extension of Business Central´s Sustainability features designed specifically for the seafood industry. The feature enables the calculation, recording, tracing, and reporting of emissions throughout the entire seafood supply chain, starting from the catching or harvesting of fish, through processing and storage, and ending with the final transport to the customer.
Key Features
Data collection for ESG reporting
Carbon footprint per kilogram of seafood product
Traceability of emissions through the seafood value chain
Simultaneously collect emission data with business operations in Business Central
Transform data from Business Central into sustainability reporting metrics with Power BI
Process Flow
The Green Accounting module enables users to calculate and record emissions associated with fishing trips, production, purchases, and logistics. This process allows users to trace the carbon footprint from the point when fish are recorded into the system, through processing, and up to delivery to the customer, where transport emissions are calculated. Additionally, any other emission related data can be entered directly into the Sustainability Journal or a purchasing document for bookkeeping. Data from Business Central can then be taken into Power BI to gain insights on environmental performance metrics.
The processes within the enclosed box—such as the Sustainability Journal and Fishing Trip—are where emissions are calculated or recorded. These entries are posted to the Sustainability Ledger Entry, which serves as a historical record of all entries. Balances are managed under the Sustainability Chart of Accounts
