Production

Emissions calculated for production processes are calculated through Production Bill of Materials and Wisefish Bill of Materials. The setup for both bill of material types is the same. The Production Bill of Materials (BOM) essentially contains a recipe of Items and their ratio to be used in the production of a product. Green Accounting functionalities work in alignment with Wisefish Production functionalities.

Pre-setup on Item Card and Sustainability Account Card is required before and is explained below.

Sustainability Account Card

The user must set up a Unit of Measurement on the Sustainability Account Cards that are connected to the Items used in the Production BOM. The Unit of Measurement must align with the emission factor´s unit to ensure correct calculations.

Item Card

The user can create or use pre-existing Items.

The user must attach the relevant Sustainability Account Card for the Item on the Item Card on the Green Accounting tab. Additionally, an emission factor can be stored directly on an Item Card, this factor will then be used in any calculations for this Item and will appear on the Sustainability Ledger Entry as Manual Emission Factor. If no emission factor is placed on the Item Card the calculation will use the emission factor within the Subcategory of the Sustainability Account Card that is connected to the Item used in the Production BOM. The emission factor stored in the subcategory of the Sustainability Account Card will appear as Default Emission Factor on the Sustainability Ledger Entry. If calculating packaging emissions through a Production BOM, add the net weight to the Item Card of the packaging; this weight represents the weight of one unit of that packaging.

Production BOM

Once the Sustainability Account Card is connected to the Item Card, sustainability fields will then autofill into the Production Bill of Materials.

If using a pre-existent Production BOM, change the status of the Production BOM to Under Development, delete the line of the Item on the Production BOM, and re-add the Item for sustainability fields to autofill. Once this is done, the Production BOM can be continuously re-used to account for emissions associated with production.

Sustainability Ledger Entry

Once the Production Lot is closed and distributed. Emissions associated with production post into the Sustainability Ledger Entry. To view Sustainability Ledger Entries associated with a Production Lot directly from the Lot Card go to Entries > Sustainability Ledger Entries.

The Sustainability Ledger Entries view opened from the lot card will show a limited view of entries associated with that lot code. This lot used purchased cod with accounted for emissions in the production lot as can be seen by the bottom entry on this screenshot (below) for 823 kg CO2. These emissions from the purchased fish are subtracted and added to the produced item. The entries that open up from the lot page will only show entries that are marked as that lot code as seen here with LOTGA3. Emissions for paper packaging contain their own line for 12kg CO2 which is the total amount for this lot, and similarly 4.5 kg CO2 from electricity for the small fillets produced in the lot.

Sustainability Ledger entries can be opened up via the main search bar. This will open up a history of all emission transactions.

This page shows further history for the purchased fish used in LOTGA3, before the cod was consumed to the lot it was purchased as seen on the bottom blue selected line which contains a different trade item lot code. Once the purchased raw material is consumed into a lot the emissions will be subtracted from the original entry and allocated to the lot. Once the output is created and the lot is closed and distributed, the emissions subtract again and are allocated to the produced product. As can be seen below 823 kg CO2 is subtracted twice, and allocated twice on the lines.
