Setting Up Estimated Additional Costs

In WiseFish, item charges have been modified to meet requirements in the seafood industry and linked to that modification is also the option to work with estimated cost

Item charges

To be able to add Estimated Additional Costs to Receipt and Delivery Agreements the Item Charge page must be adjusted for. The following are the mandatory fields:

  1. Use item charge numbers to distinguish between the different kinds of item charges. The Item Charge is given a number and a description.

  2. Then the estimated cost type is recorded; it can be either Sales or Purchase depending on where the cost is calculated, the system filters the respective values in receipt, and delivery agreements.

  3. Set up the default cost calculation method;

    • Empty - An empty value can be selected if a cost amount that is not dependent on quantity/value in an agreement is to be used.

    • Percent of value - calculates cost as a percentage of value in an agreement.

    • Base weight unit (BWU) - calculates cost based on quantity in an agreement. When selected, specify if it should be calculated from the gross or net weight in Default BWU Calculation Method

    • Pallet - calculates cost based on the number of pallets in an agreement. When selected, specify if it should be calculated by weight or value of the pallet in Default Volume/Fixed Cost Distribution Method

    • Container - calculates cost based on the number of containers in an agreement. When selected, specify if it should be calculated by weight or value of the container in Default Volume/Fixed Cost Distribution Method

Additional setup - Using Cost Rate or Templates

To minimize manual entries users can set up 1) Cost Rates or 2) Templates

  1. Cost Rate Category and Profiles - You can define cost rates for various elements such as shipping agents, locations, currencies, and more. These rates are managed in the WF Shipping Cost Rate Registration table and work similarly to a price list. See instructions:

  1. Estimated additional cost Templates - Templates can be created for vendors and customers, with the option to apply additional filters. For example, a template can be activated only based on criteria such as the ship-to code, shipment method, country, and more. See Instructions: Using Estimated Additional Cost Templates
